The Eagle Hack Lab is more than a workspace. It is the headquarters of Simplemachines, a sanctuary for social-purpose IT research, and the crucible where our ideas take form. Situated on sacred soil in Catania, its foundations rest upon an ancient church from 300 AD, which in turn rises above Roman ruins and catacombs.
The current building, Palazzo Beneventano, guards its entrance with an 8-meter high iron door, flanked by two marble angels. At the end of the grand hallway, two dragons complete the entrance, creating a profound sense of balance. This is where history and technology converge. The name itself is a nod to the Eagle Nebula (M16), a stellar nursery where stars are bornโa perfect analogy for the projects created within these walls.
The Lighthouse Pulse
This is the real-time heartbeat of our laboratory. The system is designed to be non-invasive, with each machine gently "whispering" its status periodically. What you see is the last known state of our digital heart, rendered on the server the moment you requested this page, with zero client-side JavaScript.

The Forge: An Evolving History
The lab is in a state of constant evolution. The machines that once powered our work are now historical artifacts, milestones on our journey. Today, the forge has been completely overhauled to meet the challenges of the future.
